    STEAM education

The Bilingual STEAM class at Hai Dang Xanh Preschool focuses on self-study methods, group work, and applying knowledge to real life. Children will learn and practice safety skills along with age-appropriate soft skills.

What will children gain?

1. English is advantageous for the bilingual class because it is used throughout every lesson, extracurricular activities, and especially for communication in class, where native teachers will be teaching for half of the day. In addition, Vietnamese teachers will fully use English in class.

2. STEAM supports Social Emotional Learning:
Self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, responsible decision making, interpersonal skills.

3. Management skill:
-Think carefully
-Critical thinking
-Make wise decisions based on information and proof
-Reflect on the solutions by trying out, evaluating, and improving
-Realize that it is possible to have more than one solution to a problem.

4. Fine motor skills:
Fine motor skills involve the use of smaller muscles of the hands or wrists. Children practice fine motor skills through the engineering process.

5. Exposure to languages:
Children learn the words they hear the most and the things they find interesting. Children learn languages ​​best in a highly interactive, responsive environment (more than a passive learning environment like "Repeat after me"). Children learn words better when words are placed in the right context.

6. Engineering::
- Provide children with opportunities to discuss their ideas, and explain their choices, helping them build their language to draw conclusions based on experimental, exploratory evidence.
- Engineering is a cooperative activity, so children improve their ability to work in groups significantly.

Our goals

  • Children are agile, energetic, and have self-service skills.
  • Children develop well in 5 different aspects: Physical development, Language development, Cognitive development, Social-emotional skill development, and Aesthetic development.
  • English with the children: create an environment for children to demonstrate their communication and English skills. Besides, the children can freely speak English anytime, anywhere.
  • Ensure the standard outcome for 5-year-old children: Pre-primary program- Get ready when entering 1st grade.
  • Become a SHACIE global citizen.
  • Equip children with essential skills of the 21st century: problem-solving, communication, critical thinking, creativity, cooperation, perseverance despite all failures.
